Aide
Duties and Responsibilities:
Enables
patients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording patient condition:
providing support and personal services; teaching families. Monitors patient
condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and
exercise. Supports patients by providing housekeeping and laundry services;
shopping for food and other household requirements; preparing and serving meals
and snacks; running errands.
Salary: $22,050 per
year
Education: Educational
requirements for home health aides vary depending on their employer. Aides who
work for organizations that receive funds from Medicare or Medicaid must
complete formal training, while those who work for private companies do not
have to meet these obligations. On the job training is often provided by more
experienced aids, nursing assistants, licensed practical or registered nursing
may provide this training.
Reflection:
I would want to be a Home Health Aide because it would be an easy job and
it wouldn’t be something that people expect you to do well, it would be
something I’ll do good.
