Duties and Responsibilities: Health care facilities store a wide range of patient information, including symptoms, diagnoses and treatments. At the heart of this function are health information specialist who maintain and control access to patients records. These specialists work in a variety of health care settings, from physician offices and ambulatory care centers to home health care services and surgical hospitals.
Salary: $47,620
Education: Aspiring health information management specialists need to be familiar with basic medical vocabulary and insurance coding techniques. Most employers hire candidates that have earned an associate’s degree in health information management.

Reflection: I would want to be a health information specialist because it doesn’t seem like so much, it’s like a basic thing to do within medical careers.
