Final: Part 2

A.    I liked everything about this class it is a very useful class we always had a little free time, we learned how to type fast, and we would always have a useful and inspiring quote. I also like that we good search up careers it would help me to see what career I would want to have in the future.

B.    Some suggestions I have is to do another activity because we would do the same thing every day.

C.    I did do my every best in this class because it’s not really so much to do I always bring my life planning notebook and always to my research.

D.   I am reading my 100+ daily goals because one day I would want to accomplish them and everyday I’m having new short term goals so I can have many victories on the side.

E.     Yes, I am committing on being a CTR person because if I choose the right at all times I’m going to feel good about what I am doing.

F.     I would want to be a heathy person, never do what’s wrong and always be happy to take responsibility for my Body-Mind-and Spirit.

Final: Part 1

My experience with this year’s showcase was scary I had a good team it was six of us we all had our own part of this project everyone did good. The members in my project of obesity were Lisbeth, Ashley, Clarisa, Matthew, Sevastian, and me. I think we did a wonderful job, once I went home from school I was thinking about the showcase all day hoping for it to go good and it did thank god. One I was ready to leave I was nervous because I couldn’t find my index cards where I was going to ready of in the showcase, I was panicking and I never found my index cards. Once I didn’t find my index cards I was saying that I wasn’t going to come but my sister told me that if I could of rewrite what I was going to say but there was no time for that. Then after I was like we made the power point I could read that and maybe say what I could remember what I wrote in the cards so my sister and I started to leave, we were going to the showcase already I was even more nervous now because I didn’t have my index cards my sister told me to relax, so I took a deep breath and stopped to worry. We came running because we were late already but then I realized that one of my partners was in front of me and she told me that the other good finished late so we still had time to get to our location, we signed in and then rushed to the room we needed to be at, we got there just in time we were just on time. We started our presentation and I thought it went good three of us got stuck a little but we did good. My part when good even though I lost my index card, after we asked if they didn’t have any questions and we answered them, we shook their hand and then the presentation was over.

Diagnostic Radiologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Radiologist use medical imaging technologies, such as X-rays, CT scans and MRIs, to diagnose and make treatment decisions regarding patients’ health problems. Radiologist perform image-guided procedures but do not normally handle the general medical needs of a patient. Instead, a radiologist is a specialist who uses the tools of his or hers trade to make a diagnosis for a patient, then present the results to the patient’s physician.

Salary: $273,980

Education: Radiologist are fully licensed physicians who complete at least eleven years of higher education, which includes an undergraduate degree program, doctor of medicine program and a residency. Additionally, all medical doctors must be licensed to practice. Many choose to become certified by American Board of Medical Specialties.

Reflection: I would not want to be a diagnostic radiologist because I don’t understand the job as much and don’t know what really is going on

Thanksgiving Break
 During this week I didn't do much for thanksgiving my family gathered and had a dinner and spend time together. On saturday i went to a friend 15th birthday and had fun. Sunday my family and I stayed home and my sister came with my niece to visit us and we ate pizza and watched movie.

Dermatologist

Duties and Responsibility: Dermatologist also perform procedures to improve the appearance of the skin, such as decreasing signs of aging or improving skin tone. Dermatologist may also perform minor outpatient surgeries, such as removing legions, warts, moles, or cancerous cells from the skin. A huge part a dermatologist’s job is educating their patients on the treatment and prevent of skim conditions.

Salary: $300,00

Education: to become a dermatologist you need four years getting your bachelor’s four years getting your medical degree, and three years in residency training. Additionally, dermatologist must successfully complete the USMLE exam.

Reflection: I would not want to be a dermatologist because you have to do a lot of education.

Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day has been an annual holiday in the United States since 1863. Not everyone sees Thanksgiving Day as cause for celebration. Each year since 1970, a group of Native Americans and their supporters have staged a protest for a National Day of Mourning at Plymouth Rock in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Thanksgiving Day. There are claims that the first Thanksgiving Day was held in the city of El Paso, Texas in 1598. In the second half of the 1600s, thanksgivings after the harvest became more common and started to become annual events. However, it was celebrated on different days in different communities and in some places there were more than one thanksgiving each year. George Washington, the first president of the United States, proclaimed the first national Thanksgiving Day in 1789. Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Thanksgiving Day is a times for many people to give thanks for what they gave.

Reflection: I think it is nice to have a holiday where all your family and friends get together and gives thanks for what they have and just have a great time and appreciate the live they have. Thanksgiving sometimes even help some families get together and be strong.

Dental Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: Dental assistants may perform seating patients in the treatment area, passing requested instruments to the dentist during dental procedures, sterilization and preparation of instruments, tanking impressions of teeth for study models, polishing clinical crowns, and exposing and developing X-rays.

Salary: $34,500

Education: Dental assistants receive their formal education through academic programs at community colleges, vocational schools, technical institutes, universities or dental schools. Graduates of these programs usually receive certificates. Although the majority of academic dental assisting programs take nine to eleven months to complete, some schools offer accelerated training, part time education programs or training via distance education.

Reflection: I would want to be a dentist assistant because it is a short time of community college and they pay a dental assistant good and it would be good working like an assistant.

Dental Lab Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: since each dental patient’s needs are different, the duties of a dental laboratory technician are comprehensive and varied. Although dental technicians seldom work directly with patients, except under the direction of a licensed dentist, they are valuable members of the dental care team. They work directly with dentists by following details written instructions and using impressions (molds) of the patient’s teeth or oral soft tissues.

Salary: $53,090

Education: Dental laboratory technicians may receive their education and training through a two year program at a community college, vocational school, technical college, university or dental school. Graduates of these programs receive either an associate degree or a certificate. There also are a few programs that offer a four year baccalaureate program in dental technology.

Reflection: this job sound interesting but I would not like to be a dental laboratory technician because it sounds like you need to have long years of training and education. Also, because the technics they need I don’t have them.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S Armed Forces, also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrate in other parts in the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War 1. The United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution seven years later on June 4, 1926, requesting that president Calvin Coolidge issue another proclamation to observe November11 with appropriate ceremonies. A congressional act approved May 13, 1938, made the 11^th of November in each year a legal holiday “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as Armistice Day.”

       

Reflection: This is a very nice thing to do for we can all recognize the people that are serving our country and don’t care to lose their lives but to serve their country. I am thankful to have these people because they are risking their lives for us so the least we can do is give them a day to be recognized.

Reflection: people that do good things area wise and people that do bad things would be destroyed because people that do good get things done and so what they have planned for themselves and people that choose wrong are just getting in and out of jail being  nobodies on the street.

Dance/Movement Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Dance therapists work with adults and children who are suffering symptoms including depression, anxiety, physical/psychiatric/neurological disorders, learning difficulties, dementia, autism, behavioural problems or congenital/emotional problems.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 a year or more

Education: Dance therapists are required to have a master’s degree, which entails at least two years of graduate level education after completing a four year college degree. The undergraduate education should include a liberal arts background, plus extensive dance training and experience, according to the ADTA.

Reflection: I would not want to be a dance therapist because I’m not good with communicating. Also, I wouldn’t like to dance in front of people.

Counseling/Psychotherapy

Duties and Responsibilities: Counsellors help people to explore feelings and emotions that are often related to their experiences. This allows their clients to reflect on what is happening to them and consider alternative ways of doing things.

Salary: $72,540

Education: Prospective counseling psychologist must earn a doctoral degree in counseling psychologist, complete a post-doctoral internship and obtain state licensure. All professionals using the title psychologist and providing clinical or counseling services must be licensed in the state in which the practice.

Reflection: I would not like to be a counseling/Psychologist because it is hard to be one.

Yoga Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Yoga instructors help to guide students in yoga through a variety of postures, or asanas, and breathing exercises referred to as pranayama. Instructors provide hands on direction to make sure students are performing movements properly and applying the breathing techniques. Yoga instructors may work in a class or in a one on one setting.

Salary:$36,900

Education: Completing a specialized training or certificate program is required to teach yoga. Teacher training programs can last anywhere from a few weeks to over two years, depending on the style of yoga and the rigor of the coursework. They are all physically demanding and require some personal yoga experience.

Reflection: I would want to be a yoga therapist because it sounds cool and relaxing. Also, being relaxed all day and someone is paying you for it sounds awesome and the salary I can say it’s good and also an easy job I think everybody would want to be a yoga therapist.

Clinical manager

Duties and Responsibilities: clinical managers often work for doctors’ offices, clinics, long term care facilities, and outpatient facilities. Typical duties of a clinical manager include managing clinical, professional, administrative, and clerical staff managing the recruitment, development of, and appraisal of staff overseeing day-to-day management developing and implementing policies and directive setting and monitoring budgets attending meetings handing communications and making purchasing decisions.

Education: You’ll need to have a minimum of bachelor’s degree in a field like medical service administration or health care administration. Coursework in a relevant 4 year, bachelor degree program includes course on health care law and ethics, health care financial management, organization and management in health care, information system for health care, health care administration, and case management.

Refection: I would want to be a clinical manager because it sounds like a good job because you’re more like your own manager and nobody is behind you telling you what and what not to do. 

Chromotherapy or Color Therapy

Duties and Responsibilities: Colour therapists believe that it is possible to use light in the form of colour, to balance energy to help physical, mental or emotionalproblems. To become a colour therapists are self-employed, it will also help if you have some skills and knowledge of running a business.

Salary: $60,000

Education: you can prepare to work in colour therapy a certificate or diploma, like those awarded by the vocational training charitable trust or the association of natural medication. Alternatively, you could start by doing shorter courses, which can be useful as an introduction or for general interest. Colour therapy may sometimes be included as part of a broader complementary or historic therapy course.

Reflection: I would not like to be a chromotherapy or color therapy because I don’t understand this job and I think I wouldn’t understand what it would be about and I would be lost when it would come to do this job.

Duties and responsibilities: chiropractors also refer new or recurring patients for additional diagnosis or care from other medical providers. If a new patient comes in complaining of back issues, for instance , he may be sent for X-rays. Chiropractors sometimes collaborate in ongoing rehabilitation care with physical therapist and doctors. Additionally, chiropractors may have office administration duties.

Education: A Chiropractic must have a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

Reflection: I wouldn’t want to be a chiropractor because I still don’t understand what they really do, and it don’t sound interesting.

School Principal

Duties and Responsibilities: Principals manage the day-to-day activities of activities of public and private elementary, middle and high schools. They oversee faculty and staff and make decisions that impact the overall educational success of the school.

Education: A master’s degree in education administration or leadership, along with teaching experience are common requirements.

Reflection: I would want to be a principal because you are in charge of the whole school and I can make a lot of fun activities for the school, so school won’t be only about learning they can be having fun to and that would make them like school. I would also like to give awards to the student and make them want to do great in school so they would like to get an award.

Chinese (Oriental) Medicine

Duties and Responsibilities: acupuncture treatments involve the use of needles being placed in joints and tissues. Cupping involves using cups as a suction equipment to help release toxins from within the body. Acupressure is a form of massage that applies pressure on various points in order to relieve pain in other body parts.

Salary: $61,000 per year

Education: They’ll need a bachelor’s degree and certification. Some practitioners are licensed to be a physician’s assistant and then take classes to become certified in oriental medicine practitioner.

Reflection: I would not want to be a Chinese oriental medicine because it’s not something I see myself doing and this job don’t catch my interest.

Reflection: I would not want to be a cellular therapist because it is a boring job I would not like it. Also because in not good with any type of therapy.

Reflection: I would want to be a trauma nurse because you help patients keep their lives and help them outcome something bad in their lives.
